Red Skywalker was, for the Maya, the honoring of corn, the main ingredient of an abundant life. Stretched high to the sun, corn has tremendous height, a tight vertical channel between sky and earth. Red Skywalker celebrates our relationship to plants, how by ingesting them we adopt their characteristics of growing skyward – especially through psychedelics like marijuana, peyote, ayahuasca and mushrooms. We have to get high to experience the ritual journeying of Red Skywalker, as its very energy draws us to the heavens, disconnecting us from our bodies even as they root us for our return to earth. In the sky, we receive potent, prophetic messages that we bring back to feed the people, like manna from heaven or a full harvest of main.
